Since childhood, I have always been fascinated by the early days of flight- the experience of experimentation and discovery, the thrill of not knowing what would happen next, the limitless possibilities of unexpected improvement- the sheer adventure of it all.

I was able to experience this first hand in building, with the help of friends, a childhood dream: a full-scale reproduction 1917 Fokker DR-1 Triplane.  It took 8 years and I flew it for 10 hours before selling it.   This site will log my building another plane I have always liked; the Flying Flea.  When I first saw it, it looked like a plane I - at the age of 13- could have flown right then and there.  It looked like a go-kart with wings!  So now that I have a little time and a small budget, I can also build this aircraft, and share the journey with anyone who visits this site.
